The word “Spogomi” is a portmanteau of the Japanese terms “sport” and “gomi” (meaning rubbish or trash). The Spogomi event held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, capitalized on the vibrant momentum of Car Free Day (CFD), around Jakarta Mori Tower, successfully drawing high enthusiasm from diverse members of the public. The usual atmosphere of the car-free zone, typically utilized just for walking, jogging, or cycling, felt even more dynamic and engaging as participants eagerly collected litter around the area.
